Focus timer
Twenty-five minutes of work, five minutes off, repeated a few times — the pomodoro technique in its simplest form. Press start; there is nothing to configure and nothing to sign up for.
The timer runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is stored and nothing is analysed.

How the method works
The idea behind it is old and plain: a fixed, short block of work is easier to begin than an open-ended one, and a forced break stops concentration from sliding away unnoticed. The usual shape is twenty-five minutes of work and five minutes off, with a longer break after four rounds. What matters is less the exact length than the rule that the working block stays undisturbed — messages, questions and small things wait for the break.
What the timer deliberately does not do
It asks for no account, keeps no statistics across weeks and invites you to no subscription. It also sends no notifications, because that would need a permission a timer has no business asking for: the signal at the end is enough as long as the sound is not muted. If you switch tabs the clock keeps running — the timer works from the wall clock, not from animation frames.
When it becomes a habit
For a single session this page is enough. If you work in blocks regularly, going to a separate page becomes the detour: in NX1 the same timer sits on the new tab, with breaks, a gong and a tally of how many minutes you have gathered today and this week. Your task list is beside it, and Zen mode hides everything else when you want it to.
Frequently asked questions
Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. It works out the remaining time from the clock, not from a counter that would be throttled in the background. When you come back the correct time is showing — even if the tab was inactive for a long while.
Can I change the lengths?
Not on this page; it is deliberately fixed at 25 and 5 minutes so there is nothing to set up. If you want your own lengths, a longer break after four rounds or any analysis, that lives in the focus section of NX1.
Are my sessions saved?
No. The round counter lives only while the page is open and disappears on reload. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is stored in the browser.
Why do I hear nothing at the end?
Browsers only allow sound after the page has been clicked — since you start the timer yourself, that is normally satisfied. If it stays silent, check the system volume and whether the tab is muted; the control for that sits in the tab title.
